Stay Protected! Opt In Today

 

Federal lawmakers have created new rules governing overdraft protection programs that go into effect on July 1, 2010.

 

As a result of the new legislation, you will now have an option concerning the overdraft service available to cover your ATM and everyday debit transactions.  In order to continue with the same overdraft protection you have today, you will have to opt-in.  Please take note that this opt-in rule applies only to ATM and everyday debit card transactions and does not pertain to overdraft protection services associated with written checks or recurring debit transactions, such as regularly scheduled bill payments.

How to Opt In
Opt in today by downloading the Opt-In Form and return it to any of our six convenient locations or by mail to:

Why Opt In?
Stillman Bank’s overdraft protection is designed with your protection and convenience in mind.  The vast majority of our customers do not overdraw their accounts and incur fees, however life doesn’t always go according to plan, and overdrafts do occurWithout overdraft protection, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions may be declined if you attempt to make a transaction without sufficient funds.  By choosing to opt in, you will continue to have the same overdraft protection that you have today.

 

How It Affects You

For Existing Accounts:
If you do not opt in, beginning August 15, 2010, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions will NOT be protected under Stillman Bank’s overdraft protection.

For New Accounts opened on or after July 1, 2010:
If you do not opt in, your ATM and everyday debit card transactions will NOT be protected under Stillman Bank’s overdraft protection.
